Coil Flattener Routing

A coil flattener is used for thicker or higher-strength material stock or to prepare material for pre-punching. It is also used if coil changeover involves welding the end of one coil to the beginning of the next coil. The Coil Flattener process is included in your routing if at least one of the following holds:

  • Material thickness is greater than or equal to the value of the cost model variable coilFlatteningThickness (2.54 mm in starting point Digital Factories).

  • Material yield strength is greater than or equal to the value of the cost model variable coilFlatteningYieldStrength (482.63 MPa in starting point Digital Factories).

  • Pre-punching is included in the process routing.

  • Coil Setup Method is Welding or Accumulator.
